The Bano cable granulation system from Vortex is capable of processing 600-850lbs of cable per hour. This production line system starts off with a large shredder capable of breaking up different types of electrical cables, including armored and large diameter cables.
The line is set up so that a single operator can manage the whole process, including loading and maintenance, which is minimal compared to traditional systems.
As well as working the plant continuously the system allows for the processing to be done in two stages, first the shredding can be done and the shredded cable can then be stored in silos, this allows stock pilling of part processed material. Secondly the separation process can be done using the stockpiled material from the silos. In this way the system will still operate even where lower power supplies are available.
The final quality of the separated copper is very high, with loss of copper in the plastic being negligible.
